The Metropolitan Milwaukee Fair Housing Council (MMFHC) is seeking part-time Program Assistants.

 

MMFHC is a private, nonprofit civil rights enforcement organization that operates throughout the State of Wisconsin. The mission of MMFHC is to promote fair housing by combating illegal housing discrimination, and by creating and maintaining racially and economically integrated housing patterns.

 

Working for MMFHC means being part of a present-day civil rights movement. MMFHC staff members help ensure that Wisconsin residents have information about their fair housing rights, and that people who have experienced discrimination are empowered to pursue remedies.


Job Duties: MMFHC is seeking part-time Program Assistants to provide staff support in its Enforcement Program. Through its Enforcement Program, MMFHC provides assistance to persons who may have encountered unlawful housing discrimination. MMFHC conducts fair housing investigations to identify, document, and eliminate systemic forms of housing discrimination. Job duties for this position are varied, but may include:


  • Gathering of information for investigations 

  • Collection of data and documentation necessary for enforcement activities

  • Recruitment of volunteers 

  • Participating in other duties to assist MMFHC in enforcing fair housing laws


Hours and Compensation: Work hours for this position are flexible and will be mutually scheduled with the Program Assistants. Compensation starts at $20 hour. Further information about compensation will be discussed during the employee interview.
